Such a unique wooden storage box made originally for storing Mahjong game tiles.  It would still be very functional for the tile storage, but would also be great for jewelry or sewing supplies.  It would be perfect as a jewelry box, for keepsakes, or hardware storage as well.  

The box was estate-owned and is in fair vintage condition.  You will see some scratches and dings in the wood, and one of the front corners has been a bit splintered.  There is also some minor paint spatter.  Look closely at the pictures for reference.

The symbol on the front means “East.”

The box measures 6 1/8”H x 9 1/8”W x 6 3/4”D.
